Is it unsafe to refreeze uncooked meat and why?

It's not really Unsafe, if thawed in the refrigerator and kept at a safe cooling temperature (38-42 degrees) but it will taste terrible. Each time you freeze and thaw beef, the fats consolidate and lose their natural flavors, the blood gets darker with variances in oxygen levels in the bag and actually, the blood deteriorates the flavors of the beef. Once frozen and once thawed..........that's it for optimum taste, preferably, not frozen at all. If you really can't use this meat, cook it with seasonings and then you can freeze it, but honestly, it still won't taste as good as fresh. Anyways, sorry to send you such bad news but I hope I've helped to answer your question correctly and safely, have a great week!!!!!!

Yes, it's due to bacteria growth. Why would you want to refreeze anyway? Why not just use it? If you can't use it before the dates runs out you wouldn't want to refreeze and then use it anyway. Plus I imagine it would taste pretty horrid.

DEF DO NOT DO IT, it is unsafe to freeze meat, thaw and refreeze thats one way to catch a bug, why would you wanna do that?? YYUUCCKKK!!

No I don't think so. My family does it and we are all still alive!!!!!
